Becoming a Student Poll Worker is a great opportunity to serve your community, learn firsthand how the voting process works, and provide much needed support at polling locations.

 

Qualification to become a student poll worker:

  1. Be a United States citizen
  2. Be at least 16 years old by Election Day
  3. Have a Grade Point Average of at least 2.5
  4. Get permission from a parent/guardian and school
  5. Attend a poll worker training session

 

Student Poll Worker description and job duties:

All student poll workers are required to attend a poll worker training session for each election that they plan to serve in.

Student Poll Workers:

  1. Serve at assigned polling location on Election Day from 6:00 a.m. until all duties are completed and polling place has closed
  2. Assist in setting up and preparing the polling location
  3. Assist voters in the voting process
  4. Assist in the closing polls procedures

Student poll workers will be compensated $120
